Hey Simps;
Very indepth analysis on the state of Canadian hockey, especially as it pertains to the main medium responsible for helping Canadians view that particular product. I for one have heard some interesting theories lately on the motives Balsillie may have had for pushing so hard for another Canadian team, ranging from he wanted to open peoples' eyes to the reality that pro hockey teams are not as lucrative as they may appear, and to basically piss off the "Old boys' club" for not allowing him in. I'm certain there are other theories, but my point being that you're right, there is too much focus on some of the Eastern teams, and an ever increasing amount of coverage for the American teams. I think you present a very good argument, and obviously have some strong feelings on the matter. Who knows how much of a voice your work will have, but if we as writers continue to perpetuate that message, perhaps the larger broadcasters, including CBC, will hear those 'voices'. Good stuff;
