Countdown to the Heritage Classic

I have to say I have been excited for this game since it was rumored. Now as we are just over a week away I can barely contain how excited I am for this game and the events surrounding it.
First I see this as a rematch of those 89 finals Montreal vs Calgary. There is quite a history there from that series and the Flames winning on Montreal’s ice. Maybe its partially just me reminiscing those days and partially being happy that Calgary is going on the big stage.
Second what a great time for this to come up for the Flames. The team seems to have truly come around and having this much momentum going into this game it will be quite a match.
I do hope that the NHL does this right, not just for Calgary and Montreal but for the league and Canada. The Winter Classic has become a premier event. I hope that no expense is spared to make the Heritage Classic the same way. This game will be competing with a couple things Nascar Daytona 500 and Hockey Day in America on NBC featuring several NHL games. I think that is a tougher schedule then what the Winter Classic has faced. Especially with Competition from the NHL directly.
Right now we have to wait and see. Enjoy the coming event and take it all in.
