Calgary Flames Send Irving Back To Heat

As the Trade Deadline approaches, the Calgary Flames send rookie goaltender Leland Irving back down to Abbotsford Heat in exchange for Henrik Karlsson.  Karlsson was send down two weeks ago for a conditioning stint after returning to play after suffering a lower body injury.

Karlsson, also know as the Calgary Tower, is the perfect piece for a trade as the Flames are limited in contracts they can move.  With Irving proving himself to be a solid backup to Miikka Kiprusoff, don’t be surprised if the Flames shop him around as they look to plug the holes in the roster due to injuries.  As everyone has noticed, Mike Cammalleri, who is not a centre, has been at that position the past few games because of injuries in the centre position.

Karlsson could be useful in the next few days.  Stay tuned to see what the Flames do as the Trade Deadline approaches.
