The Fairy Tale is Over

With an almost surreal quality to these past few games, the magic and spark that Sven Baertschi brought to the Calgary Flames game is coming to an end.

On emergency call up, Sven Baertschi was here only until the Flames could retrieve Lance Bouma or Lee Stempniak from injury.  With Stempniak healthy enough to return to the line up on Sunday, Baertschi has been sent back to Portland to finish out his season with the Winter Hawks in their playoff run.

While with the Flames, Baertschi ignited the Flames in their playoff push, played in 5 games and walked away with 3 goals.  At only 19, Baertschi showed skill and talent that makes me very excited for the coming seasons.  Hopefully his time in the Winter Hawks will only have him grow into an even better player.
