Stempniak, Wideman Compete For NHL 14 Cover

It’s that time of the year again and fans have another chance to vote for who they think deserves to be on the cover of EA Sports NHL 14 video game. Calgary fans have the choice to select either Dennis Wideman
or Lee Stempniak to represent the Flames on the cover. The last time a Flame’ was on the cover of an EA Sports video game was 2003, when then alternate captain, Jarome Iginla was featured. Those were the glory days. The 25-year-old Iginla rocking the best jersey in Calgary hockey history on the good-ole’ PS2.
So you’ll have your choice between Stempniak, who has 9 goals and 22 assists on the year, and Wideman who has netted 6 goals while assisting on 16.
Will these guys be on the cover? No. But one of them has to advance since they are going head-to-head. Does the average hockey fan even know of these two players? Probably not. I would have liked to see Cammalleri or Kiprusoff represent the Flames. How great would it have been to have Miika Kiprusoff on the cover of NHL 14 after his final NHL season. Icing on the cake!
