Calgary returns to the Saddledome tonight after winning only one game of five on their road swing. Wideman and Glencross are out if the line-up tonight with injuries and there hasn’t been a formal announcement on Smid and Russell yet. I’ll keep you updated.

Kris Russell was hurt during the last game against the Penguins and it hasn’t been announced whether or not he will play in tonight’s game against the Blues. Russell is a former Blues defenseman who played 43 games for St. Louis and earned 4 goals and 5 assists with the club.

Jay Bouwmeester returns to Calgary to play against his former team again. Bouwmeester was acquired by the Blues just after the Flames dealt Jarome Iginla to Pittsburgh. It was another move by the Flames to push some big names out in order to start a rebuild. So far, Bouwmeester has one goal and six assists for the St. Louis Blues.

St. Louis has a record of 24-7-4 this season while the Flames are sitting at 13-17-6. But don’t expect the Flames to roll over and play dead. They are far from it. In spite of their losses, they have showed up for every game and worked to even the score during the toughest of times. They may not be winning, but at least the effort to win is there.

What are your predictions on the final score?
