Former Calgary Flames franchise player, Jarome Iginla, has been on a hot streak with the Boston Bruins lately. He was on a six-game point streak earning 7 points in 6 games. I’m glad he’s finally being utilized to the best of his ability. It seems to me that he’s just getting warmed up, just as he use to with the Flames. Go Iggy!

Former Calgary Flames right-winger, Tim Jackman is doing well recently with his new club, the Anaheim Ducks. In the tilt against the Edmonton Oilers, on January 3, Jackman took five shots on net and garnered his second goal of the season as well as a +2 rating that night.

The Flames former defenseman, Jay Bouwmeester has earned himself 4 points in his last ten games for the St. Louis Blues. With an average of 24:31 on the ice in ten games, Bouwmeester seems to be a key player in the Blues defense.

In other news, Don Cherry had a few words about the Team Canada selection for the World Juniors. On the January 4th edition of Coach’s Corner, as shown here on the Toronto Sun website, Don expressed, “Hockey Canada should smarten up…and work at not being political.” Is Don right or is Don wrong? What are your thoughts on the Team Canada choices for the junior team?
