The Chicago Blackhawks are in Calgary to take on the Flames tonight at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Chicago (32-10-12) are in first place in the Central Division with 76 points, while the Calgary Flames (18-27-7) are in sixth place in the Pacific Division with 43 points.

Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp, Jonathan Toews, and the rest of the star players on the Hawks will put Calgary to the test tonight.

Mark Giordano seems hopeful and want to keep the wins alive. As he said in the game preview, “”I think it would be a big positive for us if we could string a few wins together, and hopefully we can.”

Ladislav Smid is happy to return to the line-up tonight after being sidelined with an undisclosed injury for a few days. He doesn’t underestimate the power and challenge of tonight’s battle on ice against the Blackhawks. As he told Flames TV, the Calgary Flames will have to “be ready for a full sixty minutes” of play in order to win against a structured, talented team like Chicago.

Injuries include Curtis Glencross and Mike Cammalleri, who will still be out of the line-up tonight. Even though Brian McGrattan is listed in the projected line-up for tonight’s tilt against Chicago, he is questionable as to whether or not he will actually play due to an undisclosed injury.
