During the last home game at the Saddledome, against the Minnesota Wild, Karri Ramo left the game in the first period with what appeared to be an injury. Upon further observation, it was reported that he injured his MCL (medial collateral ligament).

It’s questionable how long he will be out, but, in his place, Joni Ortio has been called up from the Abbotsford Heat. Joni Ortio is a 22 year old who has been tearing up the AHL with a record of 19 wins and 5 losses. With two shutouts this season so far, a 2.08 GAA, and a save percentage of .930, Ortio is a welcomed addition to the Calgary Flames.

For more stats on Joni Ortio, you can check out his bio on the Flames website as well as numerology on the netminder.

The projected line-up for the game against the Montreal Canadiens has Reto Berra as starting goalie, but, as we all know, things have a tendency to change at the last minute.

And now we wait and see what happens…
