Tonight, Joe Nieuwendyk will be honoured as “Forever A Flame” with his #25  jersey being raised into the rafters at the Saddledome before the game against the Islanders.

The Islanders are in 26th place in the standings with 57 points. With 55 points, the Flames will try to get the two points tonight to tie New York.

In net for the Flames tonight is Joni Ortio who has played two games and earned a GAA of 1.53 and a save percentage of .945. The projected line-ups for the tilt against the New York Islanders have Mike Cammalleri, Mikael Backlund, and Joe Colborne up front while Mark Giordano and T.J. Brodie man the blue line. Lance Bouma, Sean Monahan, and Jiri Hudler will take place on the second line while Markus Granlund will play his third game on the third line with Max Reinhart and Paul Byron.

Still out of the line-up are Kevin Westgarth, Curtis Glencross, David Jones, Karri Ramo, Matt Stajan, and T.J. Galiardi. Dennis Wideman is questionable but is listed in the line-up on the Flames website. Because of this, Tyler Wotherspoon has been recalled from the Abbotsford Heat.

Puck drop is at 7pm MST and will be broadcast on SportsNet West.

Go Flames!

*updated line-up – looks like Bouma is bumped up to the first line while Galiardi is playing with Monahan and Colborne. On defense, Wotherspoon has replaced Wideman.
