Calgary Flames Signings, Call-Ups, and Awards

Ryan Culkin has signed with the Calgary Flames. The defenseman from Quebec was signed to a 3-year entry level contract by the Flames this week. You can read more about it on the Flames website.

Calgary has assigned Brett Kulak to the Abbostford Heat after the Vancouver Giants had been swept out of the WHL playoffs by the Portland Winterhawks. Chad Billins has been recalled from the Abbotsford Heat. Billins has already played two games for the Flames this season and notched 2 assists. More on the Flames website.

Matt Stajan has been awarded the J.R. McCaig Award for his outstanding “respect, courtesy, and compassion” this season while being part of the Flames franchise. He’s respected in the community and on the team for his charity work with the Alberta Children’s Hospital. He is also part of the Ronald McDonald House and the Flames Foundation For Life.
