Tonight, the Calgary Flames take on the New Jersey Devils in the last game of their road trip.

There are some major changes to the lineup tonight. Mikael Backlund is out due to a hand injury and Ladislav Smid is missing from the lineup due to an upper body injury. As well, Matt Stajan and Paul Byron are still out for personal reasons while Dennis Wideman, Markus Granlund, and David Jones are still on the injured list. All injuries are listed on the Flames website.

Added to the lineup tonight is Mark Cundari. Cundari was part of the trade that sent Jay Bouwmeester to the St. Louis Blues last season. The young defenseman will be paired with Chad Billins, who was recalled from Abbotsford recently as well. Cundari got his start last season, playing one game at the end of the season, to which coach Bob Hartley expressed on the Flames website that Mark was very intense during the game last season, possibly too eager. Yet, as Cundari himself explained in the same article, he feels more “composed and calmer” this year.

According to the projected lineup, Karri Ramo starts in net for Calgary.

Puck drop is at 5pm MST. The game will be televised on SportsNet West and broadcast on The Fan 960.
