Good morning Calgary Flames fans!

As of this early morning writing, the Flame For Thought family has deemed Jarome Iginla the runaway leader in the “Who is the greatest Calgary Flame of all time” vote.  The vote is still OPEN.  Please vote for your choice of greatest Calgary Flame and I will give an update in tomorrow mornings “Hot Start”.

The Flame For Thought Twitter family made me giggle a few times almost immediately after posting the Vote link.  The first player that got mentioned – – Ruslan Zainulin.  The only reason I had even heard of him before last night was coming across his name in a “worst Flames trades in history” article.  The trade, for those who don’t remember, Zainulin was acquired at the cost of Marc Savard.

Also yesterday on Flame For Thought, the introduction of a Sunday tradition.  From the Twitter account Iggy Smalls, I will post an “edit” of a Calgary Flame hockey player.  Check out yesterday’s edit.  I feel it expresses the sentiment of many Flames fans.

The Calgary Flames website wrote about Sam Bennett’s and Morgan Klimchuk’s  upcoming big week in Hockey Canada’s evaluation process for the 2015 World Junior Championship roster.  Meanwhile over at NBC Sports ProHockeyTalk, it was Calgary Flames day. Here are links to all the stories they wrote about our Flames.

  1. Giordano: Calgary’s diamond in the rough
  2. Under Pressure: Sven Baertschi
  3. Looking to make the leap: Johnny Gaudreau
  4. How much will Hiller improve Calgary’s goaltending?
  5. Fanspeak: Iginla deemed Flames’ greatest player

It is a holiday Monday, here’s hoping many of you have the day off.  Have a great day Flames fans!
