Good morning Calgary Flames fans!

Our Calgary Flames 2014-15 season starts in just over one month.  Here’s a question for you Flame For Thought family, in the form of a poll.  My answer to the question was already revealed in my inaugural article with Flame For Thought.

One major difference for the Calgary Flames this season will be “the voice”.  After 33 seasons, Peter Maher has retired from being the radio voice of our Calgary Flames.  Being from Edmonton, I cannot speak much to the legacy of Maher but can offer Calgary Flames fans a warning about the upcoming change.  Growing up listening to Rod Phillips covering the Edmonton Oilers, I remember hearing about Phillips retirement and making a point to listen to a game on the radio to check out the “new guy”. The first time Jack Michael’s did not bellow the hallowed “scooooooooores”, I forgave him.  The second time he didn’t bellow the hallowed “scoooooooores”, I turned the radio off.  Allow yourself to embrace the new guy Derek Wills and the things he does differently than Peter Maher rather than focusing on them.

If you, per chance, find yourself still waiting for the spark to re-ignite about the upcoming 2014-15 season, maybe the following two Roger Millions (Sportsnet TV Flames games host) tweets will help:

Have a great day Flames fans!
