Good morning Calgary Flames fans!

Jiri Hudler was re-introduced to the Flame For Thought family last night.  Also re-introduced to the Flame For Thought family last night was the reality of snow.

When the Flame For Thought Twitter account tweeted out that “it should be against the law to have snow on the ground without having Flames hockey to watch on TV“, an epic response was tweeted back.

My daughter and I came up with the sure-fire method of predicting our Calgary Flames first three games of the regular season – – using a Frustration game board.  Pleas watch the YouTube video – – spoiler alert – – we have the Flames going 2-0-0-1.

Who is Raphael Diaz?  To me he is the equivalent of the Devin Setoguchi signing, a good enough veteran to keep the youth movement moving at a safe pace.  In comparison to the recent Sheldon Brookbank and Corey Potter news, the Diaz invite is definitely the most exciting.  Here is The Hockey News assessment:

"Assets: Is a smooth skater with puck poise and some offensive acumen. Moves the puck efficiently most of the time. Doesn’t make a lot of mistakes when he has the puck.Flaws: Lacks size and strength, so he can get knocked off the puck with relative frequency. Needs to be more assertive when on the ice, both on offense and defense."

The Calgary Flames have released their 2014 Young Stars roster.  Can you imagine being an opposing player going down the right side of the ice and having 6’7″ right winger Hunter Smith to go through AND THEN 6’7″ defenseman Keegan Kanzig to go through. 
I wonder which center the Flames will skate with Johnny Gaudreau ?  His Boston College teammate Bill Arnold or 2014’s first round draft pick Sam Bennett?  First game of the Young Stars tournament is this Friday versus the Winnipeg Jets at 5PM local time.  The game will be streamed on Calgary Flames website.
