Happy Sunday Flames fans! It’s game day at the ‘Dome tonight where the Calgary Flames will face off against the Los Angeles Kings. Let’s take a look at some news surrounding the Flames over the last day.

The Calgary Flames will be welcoming one of their Pacific Division rivals, the Los Angeles Kings, tonight. Meaning they’ll be playing against Jarome Iginla again. But this time, it’ll be Iggy’s first time at the ‘Dome not in the number 12 (my heart hurts).

I typed out “this is a big game for the team”, but I had to delete it because, let’s face it. Every game from this point forward is a big game. With only 11 games left, there isn’t much room for mistakes.

But I mean, the team still thinks this is a big game – which technically it is. But I just think that every game from this point on is crucial.

"“It’s a huge game,” said centre Sean Monahan. “Everyone knows that. These are the games that are fun to play in. You’ve got to step up. Everybody has to play a role in these games.“Every shift matters in this kind of game. You’ve got to be at your best.“You’ve got to be mentally ready. Right now we’re pretty eager to get going here for tomorrow night.“It’s one we’re really looking forward to.”"

Some other piece of fun news is Brian Elliott right now. First, he beat his own personal win-streak record in the last game against the Dallas Stars with 10 in a row. He’s now one away from tying a franchise record, set by Mike Vernon in 1989, with 11 straight wins.

Hey, I think something else happened in 1989, but I can’t quite put my finger on it…
