Happy afternoon Calgary Flames fans! It’s an exciting day today because the Flames could clinch a playoff spot if they win tonight. Let’s check out some Flames news.

The Calgary Flames will be playing the Los Angeles Kings tonight. This is a huge game for the Flames. Since the Kings lost last night, a win in any fashion tonight for the Flames will clinch a playoff spot for them. This will also be an emotional game for Flames fans because this could be Jarome Iginla‘s last game in the ‘Dome tonight.

I’ll be over here crying, thank you.

If we all remember the last game the Flames played the Kings, rookie Matthew Tkachuk was making some friends again. He ended up elbowing Kings defenceman Drew Doughty in the face which caused a two-game suspension. Doughty had some comments about the kid, calling him a ‘dirty player’ and other not-so-nice questions.

Tkachuk however decided to fire back as well.

"“I expected more from him, honestly, than to go right to the media and start complaining after a loss,” Tkachuk told Postmedia. “But he’s a good player. He’s a good enough player where he doesn’t have to worry about any of that stuff, he’s a skilled guy and everything like that, and he’s won a couple of Cups.“He’s still a real good player, so I don’t think he’ll be too worried about it tomorrow.”“It has no effect on me what (Doughty) says or anybody on their team says,” Tkachuk said. “If it was a pretty dirty play …“I mean, nobody really did anything about it and nobody on our end really thought it was that bad. But that’s in the past. Tomorrow, it’s just another game and hopefully another game closer to playoffs.”"
