So I was holding off on the post until something happened with the Free Agency hold off, but there seems to be more consideration going into where players end up than in years past.  The time was giving me an opportunity to react to the signing of Olli Jokinen to the Winnipeg Jets, because this is truly the most conflicting signing of the summer, but it’s time to address all the moves the Calgary Flames have made in the past 36 hours.   (more…)

Earlier this afternoon it was released that Calgary Flames veteran centerman Olli Jokinen underwent surgery on his abdomen.  In pain since March, Jokinen finished the season before going under the knife for repairs.  This puts an interesting twist on earlier news about the Flames signing of Roman Cervenka.
