3. D Kevin Korchinski

First up on our list is Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Kevin Korchinski, who was once the No. 7 overall pick by Chicago way back in the 2022 NHL Draft. That may have been four years ago, but he's still just 21-years of age, and after playing just 29 combined games in the NHL over the past two seasons, it appears as though he doesn't have a major future with the Blackhawks.
While the Blackhawks are expected to dangle him in trade talks, the Flames could get ultra-aggressive in pursuing him, as he would fill a major hole on the left side, with the team likely to explore moving Olli Maatta at some point this summer as well. Unfortunately, Korchinski hasn't quite taken the next step at the NHL level, but at 6-foot-1 with a combined 53 points in the AHL over the past two seasons, he's worth taking a risk on.
Regardless, Korchinski is likely to be moved this off-season, and while the Flames added Abram Wiebe this past season, getting competition for the LHD spot to push out Maatta and Joel Hanley won't be a bad outcome for the organization.
