Seven in-a-row for the San Jose Sharks now, after beating the Calgary Flames 2-1 Friday night, despite the Flames getting the first one of the game in the first period on a power play goal by Mikael Backlund. Two third-period goals from Dan Boyle and Joe Pavelski, were the tying and leading goals respectively. Despite Miikka Kiprusoff saving 39 out of 40 shots, his spectacular effort wasn’t enough Friday as his Flames lost their ninth-straight game away from the ‘Saddledome.

Backlund had the only Flames’ goal, coming on the power play and assisted by Mike Cammalleri, with 2:05 left in the first period.

It’s a quick turn-around for the Flames, who are off to Vancouver and will face off against the Canucks Saturday night.

Colorado, meanwhile, lost in overtime, so the Flames are not yet tied for the least-amount of points on the season.
