The Calgary Flames new re-located American Hockey League team now has it’s own website.  Well, sorta.

The Adirondack Flames will be coached by Ryan Huska.  The only 39 year old Huska only played in one NHL game but will have Todd Gill serve as his assistant coach.  Gill played 1007 NHL games.

It may be a good idea to “bookmark” or “favourite” the following link to the Adirondack Flames website to keep up with some of our Calgary Flame prospects that may not start the year with the NHL club.  Here’s some food for thought.

Recently re-signed goaltender Joni Ortio immediately comes to mind.  Ortio signed a two year contract but the first year is a two way contract.  With my initial post on this site being a glowing rant of approval over the signing of free agent goalie Jonas Hiller, I’m kinda hoping not to see Joni Ortio in the NHL after September.

Scouring the internet trying to learn as much about the Flames prospects, defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon seems to create some controversy.  Most posters from various sites agree that Wotherspoon is a more than capable 6th/7th defenseman on the Flames.  Of those posters from various sites, most also agree that it may be better for Wotherspoon to be an Adirondack Flame.  With the AHL team, Wotherspoon would be playing 20-25 minutes, while in Calgary (many nights) he would struggle to play half of that.
