Flames Take On The Hawks With A Look Ahead

Tonight the Flames head into their 149th game against Chicago Blackhawks, with tonight’s puck being dropped at 6:30pm MST in the United Center.  With Miikka Kiprusoff in goal things are looking a little shaky for the Flames as he has a 10-11-1-4 record with a 3.03 GAA and .899 SV%. While it’s too early to say this game is doomed, the Hawks just broke a three game losing streak against the Columbus Blue Jackets, which honestly at this point shouldn’t even count for 2 points, Flames cannot continue the style of play they had against Minnesota Wild.  A 3-0 game is not what the Flames should be producing, they need to get in the game, come out strong and learn to use their man advantage to their advantage.  Crazy thought, I know! Luckily the Blackhawks will be in the same position as the Flames when they go on the power play.

Looking ahead, the Flames will play again tomorrow night against the Colorado Avalanche for the second time in 7 days, again at the Pepsi Center.  This will be the third time this season the Flames will see the Avalanche and hopefully record their third win.  After that, the Flames head home for a game against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday the 15th and they’ll finish off next week against the Blackhawks again, this time at home.

It’s going to be quite the week for the Flames.  Should come away with at least 4 points, two against from the Avs and two from the Sens.  I hate to say it but the Flames will probably split the two games with the Blackhawks, something we don’t want to see but 2 out of 4 is better than 0 out of 4.
