The Calgary Flames have retained its sixth-overall selection in the 2013 NHL Draft after the Scotiabank Draft Lottery was held Monday night. The Flames have two other first-round draft picks and are projected to be the 18th and 30th selections.

The only teams that had their picks shifted as a result of the lottery were the Colorado Avalanche and the Florida Panthers. The Panthers finished the season 30th with the least amount of points but Colorado won the lottery and will have the first selection in the 2013 Draft. Florida will pick second.

With the sixth overall pick, multiple sources are predicting Calgary will select Elias Lindholm, an 18-year-old center from Boden, Sweden. Lindholm, 6’0″ 192 lbs, played the 2012-13 season for Brynäs in the Swedish Elite League and registered 30 points in 48 games.
