It was recently announced by the Calgary Flames on their website that they have traded Tim Jackman.

Tim Jackman, according to Wikipedia, has accumulated 35 points from 23 assists and 12 goals in 199 games with the Calgary Flames. With 256 penalty minutes to his credit, it’s obvious that he was part of the grit that made up the Flames team in the past three seasons.

Jackman was traded to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a 6th round pick in the 2014 draft.

This is good news for Blair Jones who got called up to the NHL from the Abbotsford Heat (currently in first place in the AHL), as was also explained on the Flames website.

Calgary has had Jones on the roster before and I thought he was a welcomed addition to a team that could use his skills and give him experience to grow and strengthen as a player in the NHL. I hope this time he can maintain his position on the roster because he’s a talented center with a lot of potential. I believe that Jones and Stempniak could be a powerful pair up front, producing goals if given the chance to play on the same line.

Time will tell when the Florida Panthers visit the Calgary Flames on Friday, November 22, 2013.
