The Calgary Flames return home, to the Saddledome, to take on former Flames defenseman, Jay Bouwmeester, and the St. Louis Blues. This is the last of three match-ups between these two teams this season. The first game, on November 7, the Blues won in regulation by a score of 3-2. The Flames came back to win the second round on December 23 with a shootout win of 4-3. Tonight’s game will be the tie-breaker.

Calgary is hoping to snap not just a consistent losing streak but also a shutout streak. In their last six games, four have been shutouts. The Blues will attempt to keep their six-game winning streak going.

Jay Bouwmeester, Calgary’s former defenseman, was traded to St. Louis on April 1, 2013 in exchange for Mark Cundari, Reto Berra, and a first-round draft pick in the 2013 entry draft. Always modest, Bouwmeester waved timidly as the Saddledome welcomed him home again during the last game in Calgary. He has recently been named one of the defensemen to represent Canada in the Sochi Olympics. Congratulations, Jay!

Included on tonight’s injury list for the Calgary Flames are David Jones, Curtis Glencross, Kris Russell, and Blair Jones.

Puck drop is at 7pm MT.
