Here are some recent updates and news from around the NHL.

Former Calgary Flames defenseman, Jay Bouwmeester, who is now a defender for the St. Louis Blues, has something to celebrate. He now leads pro sports with his 700 game streak. He truly is an iron man in the hockey world. Congrats Jay! (Bleedin’ Blue)

Next season, us old-school NHL fans will be able to re-live the past as the L.A. Kings will don their old purple and gold jerseys during the Legends Game. I’ve always loved watching old-school hockey players play old-school hockey so I’m really looking forward to this! (Rink Royalty)

It’s common knowledge now what happened to Dallas Stars player, Rich Peverley, during the game on March 4th against the Columbus Blue Jackets. What may not be known is that a season ticket holder was one of the people who helped Peverley while he was in distress. Best wishes to Rich, and a huge thank you to the fan who helped him! (FanSided)
