The Calgary Flames Will Not Finish Last in the Pacific Division

Tis the season for predictions.  The predictions studied in this article are in regards to how the Pacific Division Standings will look like on the final day of the regular season (Saturday April 11, 2015).  It’s amazing how different predictions made by Albertans differ from predictions from across the border.  Furthermore, predictions differ drastically between the two parts of Alberta.

With that I introduce you to the panel of “experts”.

Both Flame For Thought staff members (myself and Traci Kay) participated and were the ONLY ones to predict the Calgary Flames to finish out of last place.

Dave Mallett from the Edmonton Oilers FanSided site “Oil On Whyte” participated.  In a shocking revelation, Mallett was NOT the participant who predicted the highest finish for the Edmonton Oilers.  That honour goes to the Arizona Coyotes site, Howlin Hockey.  Both editors of the Anaheim Ducks FanSided site, Pucks of a Feather, participated and only agreed on first, second and last place.

Overall the Anaheim Ducks got 4 of 6 first place votes.  Los Angeles gets the consensus nod for finishing second while the San Jose Sharks get consensus nod for third place.

That’s when the word “consensus” gets thrown out the window.  Vancouver had 33% of the vote to finish 4th and 33% of the vote to finish 5th.  Edmonton got 33% of the vote for 5th and 6th place.

The only prediction I want truly want to come true, our Calgary Flames finishing ahead of the Edmonton Oilers (and maybe the Arizona Coyotes).
