With less than a month to the trade deadline, the trade market is certainly starting to buzz a little more; the Calgary Flames haven’t shown their hand yet.

No big deals have been made as yet, but the reports of general managers manning the phones have already started filing in, and likewise the rumor mills have started to come up with some eccentric (to say the least) trade proposals.

This is the time of year where a potential Cup contender will start to seek those rental players that could prove difference-maker and those selling teams look to sell and push themselves into Draft Lottery contention.

The Calgary Flames seem less likely to be searching for a rental deal, but rather players with long-term potential.

With that said, there are still certainly some players out there that would be of interest to the Calgary Flames, regardless of age or future potential – there are guys out there that could step up right now.

We look at five of these guys that the Calgary Flames should potentially covet once the trade market gets up and rolling properly.
