Cait Platt – Lead Writer

I’m a 22 year-old who is a recent graduate from Rutgers the State University of New Jersey, where I completed the *very* hockey friendly major, German Studies.

I have never visited the Saddledome or Calgary, Alberta.

I still live for the Calgary Flames regardless. Living in New Jersey has made being a Flames fan a challenge but it does not diminish my love for them in any sense. 

While it may seem I am often critical of the team, ragging on and proclaiming my dislike of certain players, at the end of it all, no matter what, I get a little teary when I hear “Ring of Fire” echoing through the ‘Dome.  Doesn’t matter who knocked in that winning goal or who was on the starting line, I’m all about loving the Flames, loving that Flaming C, and spreading that passion.

I’m 29 years old, currently residing in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I’m a banker by day, and an amateur writer by night.

I was born and raised in Nova Scotia, moving gradually out west with my family as I grew up. I was a Flames fan from a young age, though it was moving to Calgary that grounded my love for the team. I don’t have many stories about the Red Mile during the Flames’ magical ’04 playoff run, but I can tell you where it IS.

I haven’t owned a hockey stick since high school, but you’ll find me talking Flames with whoever I can find that’ll put up with that conversation.
