Over the course of two days, the AHL had their All Star Classic Skills Event and Game. Sunday afternoon the Skills competition happened with the West walking away with the win. Representing the Abbotsford Heat: newly acquired Brian Connelly, Clay Wilson, and Krys Kolanos.
In the Puck Control Relay, Connelly competed and walked away as the winner from Heat #3. In the Fastest Skater Competition, both Wilson and Connelly competed. Wilson lost in his heat against Cory Conacher, while Connelly won his heat against Jonathan Audy-Marchessault and walked away with the fastest time overall at 13.851. In the Rapid Fire competition, Kolanos went 3 for 5 with his shots but overall, the West lost to the East. The Abbotsford boys did not make an appearance again until the Pass and Score competition in which Wilson helped he West walk away with 6 of the 9 available points. In the Breakaway Relay, all three Abbotsford boys competed, with only Kolanos managing to score.
