As the summer looms in the near future, the NHL Board of Governors has started to prepare for the off season.
Already they have abandoned the idea of realignment, as the NHLPA rejected the original set up proposed. The need to set up a schedule with the current alignment has taken precedent over any kind of realignment.
More depressingly, the NHL has decided to cancel their European exposition games and match up between NHL teams in Europe. This has been a tradition of the NHL since 2007 and a huge draw for their European fans.
The more important matter at hand will be the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, which expires September 15, 2012.
What kind of season will the NHL have next year? Will there be another lock out? Will there be a partial lock out? Will the CBA issues resolve before September 15th? Leave your thoughts in the comment section.
Don’t forget the puck drops tonight night at 7pm against the Phoenix Coyotes.
