Tonight, at the Saddledome, the puck will drop at 7pm, MT when the Calgary Flames welcome the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Flyers seem to be flying high as of late, especially Claude Giroux, who has 10 goals in his last 23 games and is on a nine-game point streak. Add 26 assists and a total of 37 points so far this season and Giroux will be tough to stop in front of the Flames net.
Steve Mason, although it hasn’t been announced that he will start in net for the Flyers, has been an asset for Philadelphia. With a .922 save percentage and 2.38 GAA, I personally hope the backup goalie starts for the guest team tonight.
Reto Berra gets the start for the Flames again tonight in his fourth consecutive game. But the rest of the line-up is dependant on the newest arrival, Kevin Westgarth. Due to travel changes, it is unclear whether or not Westgarth will arrive in Calgary early enough to make it into the line-up tonight. Regardless, that didn’t stop Brian McGrattan from sending a quick text to the newest acquisition, welcoming Westgarth to the team.
Even though things may change, here is a link to the Flames projected line-up.
Still out with injuries are Glencross, Russell, and Blair Jones. Wideman will also sit this one out tonight, but he was seen at the last practice without a non-contact jersey. Hartley has mentioned today on Flames TV that Wideman will be back on the bench for the Flames on Friday to play against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Go Flames Go!
