There’s always a lot going on in the world of hockey. Here’s some of the more interesting things that I’ve come across lately.
KISS will be performing at the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series on January 25th at Dodger Stadium while the L.A. Kings take on the Anaheim Ducks. I’ve seen KISS live and I can guarantee that it’s quite the spectacular show. Add in a great hockey game and it would be the perfect way to spend a day! (FanSided)
Team USA and Flames prospect, Jon Gillies were knocked out of the World Junior Tournament yesterday as they fell 5-3 to Russia. Russia will take on Sweden on Saturday morning at 9am ET. As well, Team Canada bumped Switzerland out of the tournament. Canada takes on Finland in the next round on Saturday at 12:30pm ET. If you miss the games, you can watch them again on TSN.ca.
Nathan Horton, the fresh face of the Columbus Blue Jackets, has been added to the line-up for the first time. Horton made quite an impact against the Phoenix Coyotes during his first game as he skated alongside Dubinsky and Anisimov and scored his first goal for Columbus. (Union And Blue)
Toronto Maple Leafs Joffrey Lupul has been fined $10,000 by the league for his cross-check on Detroit Red Wings Patrick Eaves during the Winter Classic in Ann Arbor. (Editor In Leaf)
San Jose Sharks have lost Tomas Hertl for a while due to injury. And what a loss it is! Hertl went through a successful surgery and will be headed to rehab soon. (Golden Gate Sports)
A big welcome and hello to the new Editor of Howlin Hockey, Jason Zumwalt. I look forward to reading more of the Phoenix Coyotes news and info!
