The Flames are in Vancouver tonight to take on the Canucks at Rogers Arena.

The Vancouver Canucks are at the mid-way point in the Pacific Division with 57 points while the Flames are two spots behind them with 38 points.

This will be the third meeting between Calgary and Vancouver, the Canucks winning both match-ups so far this season. The Flames need retribution.

Blair Jones will return to the line-up tonight for the Flames after missing 11 games with a meniscal tear. Kris Russell has been cleared to practice and is expected back on the ice soon as well.

With 2 wins and 8 losses in their last ten games, Calgary seems to be on another losing streak. The defense was weak last game when the Winnipeg Jets won 5-2 over the Flames. Seems that Calgary needs Russell back on the blue line as soon as he’s able to play.

Mikael Backlund remains on the first line with Jiri Hudler and Lee Stempniak, while Mark Giordano and T.J. Brodie open for the blue-liners. The projected line-up shows Blair Jones on the third line with Matt Stajan and Paul Byron in his first game back while Karri Ramo gets the start in net.

Puck drop is 8pm MT, and the game will be televised on CBC’s Hockey Night In Canada.

Keep your fingers crossed, Flames fans, because this one could get wild!
