With the Olympic trade freeze on now, there will be no movement in the Flames franchise. But that doesn’t stop the rumor mill from flowing. Thomas Vanek, Ryan Callahan, and Mike Cammalleri are three names that have been thrown around a lot lately but no moves have been made. As reported by Brian Costello of the Hockey News, Cammalleri could be on his way to a west coast team, specifically in California or to Vancouver. As explained by Costello, the L.A. Kings are in need of some offensive players and so are the Anaheim Ducks. San Jose Sharks and Vancouver Canucks could also use the skills that Cammalleri would bring.
Is Mike Cammalleri on the chopping block after the trade freeze? Or will he remain a Calgary Flames forward for a few more years?
