The Calgary Flames won against the New Jersey Devils last night with the lone goal in the game. After a hard-earned win, the team talked to reporters in the dressing room and here is what some of the guys had to say.
Karri Ramo told reporters that the Devils “played a hell of a game” on April 7th and didn’t make it easy on the visiting team.
Kenny Agostino attributed the Flames recent successful streak to “the coaches and veterans who are really buying into establishing a winning culture.”
As for captain, Mark Giordano, he had nothing but praise for goaltender, Ramo, saying that Ramo is the backbone of our team here in the last little bit” since returning from his last injury. As well, when confronted about the idea of losing games on purpose to gain a better draft pick, Gio posed the simple, effective, rhetorical question, “as a player, how can you come to the rink and lose?”
And that’s basically what it comes down to – the Flames will not lose games solely for the purpose of getting a draft pick because there is a pride in hockey that cannot be extinguished. The Flames light shines brightly and will continue to give the fans hope for the up-coming season.
A full recap of the game is also available on Flames TV.
