Good morning Calgary Flames fans!
Yesterday on Flame For Thought, defenseman Kris Russell was re-introduced to the family. I still remember watching the November 3rd game last season against the Chicago Blackhawks, with my Blackhawks fan girlfriend, when Kris Russell scored that beautiful overtime winner. The video is inside the original story. I can’t wait to see more goals like that this upcoming season.
Yesterday on Flame For Thought’s Twitter account, the following answer was given in respect to whether or not the Calgary Flames should follow suit and plan a 30th Stanley Cup celebration a la the Edmonton Oilers. I loved it, I hope you do also!
“NO. I think we should just do a celebration of our 2019 STANLEY CUP!!!”via @FLAMESnMETAL
Naturally the opponent for the Oilers Stanley Cup celebration is our Calgary Flames. I hope that is the first time this season we see a Kris Russell overtime winner!
The Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) begins it’s exhibition season today. The Calgary Flames feature a few of the AJHL’s Top 50 of all time players. From the Camrose Kodiaks, the Flames have Joe Colborne and Mason Raymond. From the Okotoks Oilers, the Flames have Corban Knight. From the Brooks Bandits, the Flames have Curtis Glencross.
Congratulations to Jordan Sigalet on being named new Calgary Flames goaltending coach!
Have a great day Flames fans!
