Good morning Calgary Flames fans!  Can you believe the kids go back to school in just one week?!

Have you voted yet in the Johnny Gaudreau poll?  The poll is still open for today and as of this writing, 52% of the Flame For Thought family believe Johnny Hockey is already a bona fide NHL’er.  41% of the voters believe Gaudreau will play for the AHL Adirondack Flames at some point during the NHL season.  7% of the current voters believe Gaudreau will not wear a Calgary Flame jersey during the 2014-15 regular season.  Please have your say folks, we will look at the vote tally again tomorrow morning.

Flame For Thought also re-introduced Joe Colborne to the family last night.  I wish I was 5’7″ when I was 15 like Colborne was!  Then again, maybe I was but I just stopped growing at 5’8″.

The editor of the Arizona Coyotes FanSided site, Howlin Hockey, and I had a conversation about how our respective teams match up for the upcoming season.  It should be up on their site later today.

Rumors are getting stronger that the Calgary Flames are a getting a new Sportsnet TV play-by-play voice.  According to this article from BC’s “The Province”:

"TEAM 1040 radio is about to lose one of its top broadcasters, The Province has learned.According to sources, Rick Ball — who does play-by-play for the sports radio station’s B.C. Lions and Vancouver Canucks broadcasts — will be leaving Vancouver to take on a similar position with Rogers Sportsnet in Calgary, where he’ll call the Flames TV games in the coming season.Ball’s departure, which is expected to be officially announced this week, will leave big shoes to fill at TEAM 1040."

Any thoughts about that?

Have a great day Flames fans!
