Nov 13, 2014; Calgary, Alberta, CAN; Calgary Flames right wing David Jones (19) is hoping to return tonight against San Jose Sharks. If so, somebody’s gotta go, have your say, vote in the poll. Mandatory Credit: Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports
It was approximately a month ago when I posted an article about a returning David Jones and asked who would be the Calgary Flame moved to Adirondack to make room for him. At that time the options were Devin Setoguchi, Brian McGrattan, Johnny Gaudreau, or Josh Jooris.
Here we go again according to Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun:
#Flames coach Hartley said David Jones is expected to return against the Sharks. One player must come off the 23-man roster for it to happen

@a_harty1 @Flame_4_Thought @IAmDickie709 The issue is he hasn’t been put on waivers, not whether it’d be a lost asset. Can't clear in time.

Therefore, IF David Jones draws into tonight’s game versus the San Jose Sharks, the commonly benched Devin Setoguchi and Brian McGrattan are safe. I would dye my hair Calgary Flames red for the rest of the season if Johnny Gaudreau or Josh Jooris were sent down to Adirondack to clear room for Mr. Jones.
In my mind, there are three viable options for players to be moved down. Listed in order of how I feel the likelihood of the move is:
- Sven Baertschi – After writing THIS just a couple days ago, I’d be a hypocrite to have anything but my 1st choice.
- Corban Knight – With Lance Bouma and Paul Byron both able to play center, moving Knight down is an option.
- Michael Ferland – I needed a 3rd option but after hearing Roger Millions of Sportsnet talk about how Coach Bob Hartley believes Ferland can turn into a Milan Lucic clone, this is a darkhorse suggestion.
WHAT DO YOU THINK? PLEASE VOTE!
