Matt Stajan Put Knight in AHL, Who’ll Mason Raymond Move?

This past Wednesday Corban Knight was demoted back to the Flames AHL team in Adirondack.  The reason for the move was to allow Matt Stajan to come off the injured reserve.

The Calgary Flames announced today that Matt Stajan will play this Saturday night versus the San Jose Sharks.  Of course, Stajan has been out since a knee-on-knee hit back on October 28th.

Also this past Wednesday, the Calgary Flames released the following information about the recovering Mason Raymond:

"Raymond has missed 16 games due to a shoulder injury and is close, but not quite ready.“He’s not there yet,” Hartley said. “We worked this morning on body checking drills, battle drills, to help him regain his confidence in confrontations and feel good about his game. He’s worked real hard with all the injured guys in the gym, on the ice. His conditioning is good….”"

My un-educated guess says Mason Raymond is likely out Saturday versus San Jose.  Wouldn’t be sweet to see “MayRay” return on Tuesday against his most recent former team, the Toronto Maple Leafs?

Now, if Raymond comes off the IR that mean’s it roster decision time.  Who goes to the AHL to join Corban Knight in Adirondack?

My vote is Sven Baertschi.  Poor, poor Sven Baertschi.
