Calgary Flames Hope To Carry Momentum Against Tampa
The Calgary Flames face off with the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight, with the Flames hoping to carry on the fine form they showed in shutting out Colorado last time out.
The Calgary Flames will have to show that form without Jiri Hudler, who exited the last game with a lower-body injury.

Speaking with the Flames website on Monday, Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano said “Obviously you don’t want to see guys go down and guys who are top producers on our team, but I think it opens the door for someone else.”

Interestingly, against Colorado last time out, it wasn’t the first line for the Calgary Flames that came up with the scoring.
All four goals came courtesy of other line combinations, showing that the Calgary Flames can win without Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan providing all of the points production.
Josh Jooris was in fact the player of that game for the Calgary Flames, coming up with a goal and two further points despite spending much of the early part of the season as a healthy scratch. Clearly, he got fed up of spending his nights in the press box and in providing such a strong performance, he’s made it quite challenging if Calgary Flames head coach, Bob Hartley wants to send him back there!
Tampa meanwhile head to Calgary as the first stop of a four-game Western road trip, with Steven Stamkos obviously one of their key threats to Karri Ramo’s net. Nikita Kucherov is another hot player that the Calgary Flames should remain very guarded against, currently riding an eight game point streak.
Hopefully the Calgary Flames can come out firing all cylinders and carry the momentum of their 4-0 win last time out in Colorado to another victory for the month of January.
