It’s game day! The Calgary Flames will be facing off one of their division rivals, the Anaheim Ducks without veteran Troy Brouwer.

The Anaheim Ducks are lucky because Calgary decided to get warmer today so they won’t be phased by the cold. The Calgary Flames and the Ducks will be meeting for the third time this season. The Flames are 1-1-0 vs the Ducks so far this season.

I’m sure every Flames fan remembers what happened last game. But, in case you don’t, the Flames won 8-3. And scored six goals in the second period.

Boy what a game that was.

They’ll also be facing off without veteran Troy Brouwer for the second straight game. Teammate Kris Versteeg accidentally hit him in the hand in the game vs the Vancouver Canucks and consequently needed surgery. These two just keep getting the other injured, don’t they?

Via NHL.com: “He’s such a great veteran presence,” coach Glen Gulutzan said of the 31-year-old. “We’re going to miss him on the penalty kill, for sure. I think he’s an elite penalty-killer. He’s just a heavy body that gives us a great net-front presence, gets his weight in the corner, and in games like tomorrow (against the Anaheim Ducks), he’ll be a guy that’s going to be missed, for sure.”

The Flames might have a slight advantage in this game because the Ducks have lost four of their last five games. If the Flames win this game in regulation, they’ll take over the third Pacific division spot while the Ducks will move down to a wild card spot.
