Good afternoon Calgary Flames fans! You know the drill already, let’s take a look at news surrounding this team over the last 24 hours.
The Calgary Flames are coming off an incredible win against the Carolina Hurricanes and even more incredible road-trip. They went 4-0-1 and are now sitting in the first wildcard spot. Johnny Gaudreau had a three-point night against the Canes where he had two goals and one assist.
He was especially important this week as well. He got eight points in the four games this week which also earned him NHL’s third star of the week.
And what’s a post-game win without some post-game comments?

"“We need him,” coach Glen Gulutzan said (about Gaudreau). “This is the time you need your big players . . . coming down the stretch. I thought he was very good tonight. I thought he was dangerous.”“Big win in Nashville started it off,” Gaudreau said. “We had some gritty wins in Tampa and Florida and a nice win tonight, too. I’m really happy for our group here. We’ve got to keep this thing going. We know we’re setting ourselves up for an important month of March.“We know how important this last month-and-a-half here is.”"

Let’s talk more about Johnny Hockey. Like I said, he had eight points in the four games this week. But his first goal against the Hurricanes was his first goal in 11 games. And you could tell by his reaction after that goal that it was a much needed goal for him. All the assists in the world isn’t the same as a goal.
Gaudreau now also has 24 road points so far this season. He had just 22 all of last season.
