Good afternoon Calgary Flames fans on this cold Saturday. You know the drill, let’s take a look at news surrounding the Flames over the last day.
It’s game day for the Calgary Flames. They’ll have just one road game in Manitoba when they take on the Winnipeg Jets for the third time this season before coming back home. Now for the rest of the season, the Flames will be playing every second day (thanks universe). Which means no more long breaks.
When the Flames are playing well, you don’t want these long breaks. You want to keep watching hockey because it’s fun. The Flames are definitely headed in the right direction, unlike the Jets right now. The Flames are on an eight-game win streak while the Jets have lost four of their last six. They’re basically fighting for their lives at this point.
Via Calgary Sun:
"“Both teams have some nice pieces in place, some good things to build off of, some good young talent,” Jets captain Blake Wheeler said, Friday. “They’re obviously a little bit ahead of where we’re at right now. But there’s a lot to look forward to for both teams.”"

Speaking of an eight-game win streak, the Flames will be looking to make history tonight. This eight-game win streak is tied for the longest win-streak in franchise history. The last time this team had an eight-game win streak was in 2005. With a ninth-game, they’ll officially set a new franchise record for longest win-streak.
Fans and the team are happy. Someone who isn’t happy?
He just got fined yesterday $2,000 for diving/embellishment. This is taking a serious dip into his Skittles fund. He initially had a two-minute minor on that penalty for embellishment. He had another incident back in December, which he got a warning for. So for this second time, it results in a $2,000 fine.
