Calgary Flames Fans: Ducks vs Oilers – Who Do You Want?
It’s possibly the worst-case scenario for Calgary Flames fans – Ducks vs Oilers in the second round. So who do Flames fans want coming out on top?
This is the worst thing to happen in the existence of hockey. Well, for Calgary Flames fans at least. Two of the Flames arch nemesis – the Anaheim Ducks and the Edmonton Oilers – are facing each other in the second round. Of course, nobody wants any of these two teams to win, and right now the Oilers are up 2-0 in the series. But if we HAD to pick one, who do Flames fans want coming out on top?
And no guys, we can’t keep pretending this series isn’t happening. I know, I wish we could too.
We recently ran a Twitter poll asking who Flames fans are choosing. Here are the results:
As we can see, the same amount of people who would prefer the Oilers would also prefer death. Interesting. Of course, we have Flames fans who just love Dougie Hamilton. I mean, who doesn’t? But the Twitter consensus from this poll and from people I follow seem to heavily be towards the Ducks.
We also asked this on our Facebook page (@ Flame For Thought) and the results seem to be quite evenly split right down the middle between the Ducks and the Oilers.
Me and my dad are pretty opposite. I am 100% for the Ducks. I have this big hatred for the Oilers that goes way deep down. Well, I was born in Calgary. Can you blame me? Of course I have been crying this entire series, in case you were wondering.
But my dad prefers the Oilers. He prefers to root against the other Albertan team, which seems to be the general consensus among people picking the Oilers over the Ducks. But still, I’m going with the Ducks. Which is weird because I was just hating them with every fiber in my being about a week ago.

So Flames fans, riddle us this: Who are you voting for? Ducks or Oilers. To be honest, I am surprised how well the Oilers are doing so far in this round against the Ducks. Not pleasantly surprised, but surprised.
