With Troy Brouwer not being picked up by Vegas in the Expansion Draft, here are reasons why other teams should trade for the Calgary Flames power forward!

An Expansion Draft is a nervous time for hockey fans everywhere. It’s all like, “Who’s Vegas going to take from each team?” Well, with the Calgary Flames leaving Troy Brouwer exposed, this was a nervous time for Flames fans too. Of course, you want every player to stay on the Flames, but what kind of fans would we be if we weren’t honest?

Now, as much as Flames fans would have LOVED to have Brouwer remain on the Flames with his offensive skill and awesome contract, he was still exposed. But fortunately for the Flames, he didn’t get picked up by Vegas. Of course, as fans of a team, we want all the players to stay. But we’re also not selfish! We want all the NHL teams to know the benefits of trading for a guy like Troy Brouwer. But please teams, don’t take Brouwer! I’m only doing this to be nice, but please don’t take one of the best players on this team!

I mean, just look how good of a mustache he can grow in November:

Before the expansion on Twitter, we asked for suggestions on why Vegas should be thrilled to have Troy Brouwer.

Here are some of the suggestions:

Very true! Troy Brouwer won a Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks back in 2010 when they won their first cup which was their first cup in 49 years. Wow, I think any team would be thrilled to have that kind of playoff experienced player on their team.

Again, another AWESOME fact! Here’s proof:

The only problem with his beagles is that he’s somewhat slowed down in posting about them. In 2013, he would constantly post pictures of his beagles. Now? It’s maybe once a year. Where are the beagles, Troy?

We need the beagles.

Just look at this big body presence of his:

Wow, shoving players, being a big body presence in front of the net, AND fighting? Every team NEEDS a guy like Troy Brouwer. Except for the Calgary Flames… cause they’re not selfish.

Being able to make puns out of his name? Sold!

A very good point! You know who else scored under 100 goals every single season? Basically every great NHL player in history. Gordie Howe, Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Lanny McDonald. The fact that you can associate Troy Brouwer in the same category as all these hockey icons, how are teams not trading left and right for this guy already? Makes no sense.

Another good point! More proof:

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “If he’s THIS amazing, why aren’t we hearing offers from other teams for him?” And I’m telling you, it’s a mystery to me too! And hey, think about it: If he’s on your team, you can use the pun, “Go go Brouwer ranger.”

Calgary Flames fans already had their share of Brouwer puns, it’s time for other teams to have a turn. I mean, it’s only fair.
