Calgary Flames New Years Resolutions

With the new year coming up, I thought it would be fun to highlight what should be the resolutions of a few members of the Calgary Flames Flames organization. From management all the way down the players.

Glen Gulutzan: Stop playing Troy Brouwer so much. Bench him once in a while to give the younger players a chance. Also, stop playing Matt Bartkowski when a perfectly good Rasmus Andersson is available.

Dave Cameron: Go backpacking in Europe and hand the reigns to the power-play over to someone else. Or, take Troy Brouwer off the power play and maybe try Dougie Hamilton out on the top unit.

Rasmus Andersson: Next time you’re called up make the most of it. If you get game action show the coaching staff and management just how good you are. Make the decision to send you back down the hardest decision it can possibly be. Also, maybe do some fun Swedish stuff with Mikael Backlund

Matt Bartkowski: Try to find out a way to turn yourself into a better hockey player OR figure out how to turn yourself into Andersson.

TJ Brodie: If you’re going to to be on the powerplay, shoot the puck once in while. Keeping the puck in at the blueline is well and good, but a slapshot from the point once in while might be just what the power play needs.

Matthew Tkachuk: Continue making even more friends and try to not get suspended again.

Johnny Gaudreau: Shoot the puck more. You have good shot when you choose to use it, so use it more!

Sam Bennett: Play every game for the rest of the season the way you’ve been playing since mid-November. Maybe also invest in more hats…

Mikael Backlund: Absolutely nothing. You’re already perfect the way you are… Or, if there is one thing you could do, sign a nice, long-term contract extension with the Calgary Flames

Will the players live up to these resolutions that we created for them without them knowing at all? We’ll have to wait and see.
