Calgary Flames Daily: Game day, Jaromir Jagr placed on IR
It’s the final game for the Calgary Flames before their mandatory bye-week. Will they be able to extend that win streak to seven games?
The Calgary Flames will try to extend their win-streak tonight to seven games before they go the mandatory league bye-week where they’ll get five days off. They’ll hope to go into it on a high and remaining in that third Pacific Division spot.
The Flames have finally placed Jaromir Jagr on injured reserved after him being day-to-day for a while. They recalled Ryan Lomberg from Stockton in his replacement. The Flames will also be without Sean Monahan tonight as he’s out with an illness. Sam Bennett will take his spot on that first line so we might be seeing that third line be all AHL players if Andrew Mangiapane moves up with Mark Jankowski and Garnet Hathaway.
The Flames will be playing the Carolina Hurricanes tonight. These two have already played each other back in October where Carolina won 2-1. Wow, a one-goal game? That seems odd for the Flames this season…

We’ll probably be seeing Marek Hrivik make his way into the lineup after being recalled. He was seen on that fourth line with Matt Stajan and Curtis Lazar during warmups, so he’ll finally play his first game as a Calgary Flame tonight.
In terms of Jaromir Jagr though, people are thinking this may be the end of his time in Calgary. A couple weeks ago, Glen Gulutzan said we’ll have more information the next day on him. Everyone started speculating that his time in Calgary was done, but then the Flames just said that he’s still day-to-day. He was seen in practice having fun with the Calgary Roughnecks, the lacrosse team in Calgary, a couple days ago. So we’ll have to wait and see what happens with him.
