Calgary Flames Daily: Game day, Treliving speaks about team
It’s game day! The Calgary Flames play their final road game of the season tonight in Manitoba. GM Brad Treliving has also spoken up.
Only two more days of suffering, we can do it guys. The Calgary Flames play their final road game of the season against the Winnipeg Jets tonight before they come back home and finish off their season against the division leaders, the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Flames are hoping for a strong finish for their final road game after GM Brad Treliving finally speaks up about the team. With the last few weeks and the Flames losing eight of their last nine, people have been questioning the heart of the players.
Head coach Glen Gulutzan has already spoken up about it saying that it’s “B.S.”. Now, Treliving finally speaks up too.

Via Calgary Sun:
“I know it has become a story, but I don’t question our character,” said Treliving.“I’m around these guys every day, and I don’t buy into that. This team was praised for its character a year ago when we made the playoffs, and, all of a sudden, we lost that?“Probably the biggest addition we made is Travis (Hamonic), and I’d love to debate anyone on his character.“I don’t question whether these guys want to win. Everyone wants to win.”
The Jets are having their best season yet with 110 points in 80 games so far. The Nashville Predators currently hold the first place spot in the Central Division with 113 points in 80 games. A loss in regulation tonight for the Jets would keep them in second place. But if they won, they have a chance of finishing first in the Division.
The Calgary Flames, on the other hand, are eliminated from playoff contention and won’t even have a first or second round pick. So they’re not exactly playing for a lot right now. They can always play the spoiler, but Gulutzan doesn’t like using that word.
