Calgary Flames: Sam Bennett does shampoo ad, gets roasted by team
After doing an ad for head and shoulders, the Calgary Flames youngster got somewhat picked on by his teammates on social media.
It’s absolutely no secret that Sam Bennett is somewhat balding. He may only be 21 years old, but genetics are definitely not his friend. And although he grew quite the beard this season, most likely as a compensation for what’s missing up top, everyone still noticed. Speaking of his beard, it seems that it may have been the reason the Calgary Flames didn’t do so hot this season, but that’s a whole other story.
Yesterday, for some reason, Sam Bennett did an ad for Head and Shoulders on his social media for a campaign for confidence. If you’re not aware, Head and Shoulders are known for their hair products. Specifically, shampoo and conditioner, which is a little ironic in Bennett’s case.
So of course, he was bound to face some heat from his teammates.
Clearly, the players have let Bennett know once or twice about his balding. Hey guys, be nice! This campaign is about confidence!
But it wasn’t just the players poking fun…
Wow, everyone from the players to the media is just roasting Bennett for this, hey? Calgary Flames culture seems toxic.
In an ideal world, Mark Giordano, Matt Stajan, and Ryan Leslie would all do a shampoo sponsorship together.
Next: Reason for season of mishap: Sam Bennett's beard
Last year, we saw Bennett get a “Twitter virus” with some cheap sunglasses promotion. But let’s be real, now with this ad? Clearly, he’s trying to earn some extra coins in the off-season. Gotta respect him for that.
